CLEARWATER — A property owner has filed a lawsuit against Security First Insurance Company, a licensed insurer, citing alleged breach of insurance policy.
Kendra Mulherin filed a complaint on Dec. 17 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Security First Insurance Company alleging that it failed to provide coverage for certain of her losses.
According to the complaint, Mulherin alleges that in 2000, she insured her dwelling located at 1419 Jeffords Street in Clearwater, which sustained a covered loss while the insurance policy issued by the defendant was in full force and effect. The defendant assigned a claim number and a date of June 12, 2018, to the loss. The plaintiff holds Security First Insurance Company responsible because it allegedly failed to pay for all of her losses.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney's fees and all issues so triable. She is represented by Morgan Vasigh of Morgan & Morgan PA in Tampa.
