ORLANDO — An Orange County customer is suing a grocery store owner, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Nicole Watts filed a complaint Aug. 9 in Orange County Circuit Court against Moran Foods LLC, doing business as Save-A-Lot No. 117, alleging the grocery store owner failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its invitees.

According to the complaint, on March 18, 2017, Watts she was a lawful guest at the Save-A-Lot grocery store, 6135 Silver Star Road, Orlando. The suit says Watts slipped and fell on two old plums.

The lawsuit states the fall led to bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of the ability to earn money.

The plaintiff alleges Save-A-Lot No. 117 failed to adequately maintain the store free of hazardous and dangerous conditions and failed to inspect or adequately warn Watts of the existing danger.

Watts seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Christopher Steinhaus of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
