CLEARWATER — A resident is suing a Largo building operator, alleging negligence caused the plaintiff's fall down the stairs.
Kristen Scheblein filed a complaint Aug. 1 in Pinellas Circuit Court against AFH-Bay Fund LLC, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its invitees and residents.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 11, Scheblein was injured when she tripped and fell on a broken step of the defendant's building No. 49, 1201 Seminole Blvd. in Largo. She says she fell down the stairs and suffered injuries in and about her body and extremities and incurred medical expenses, disability and mental anguish.
The plaintiff alleges AFH-Bay Fund LLC failed to maintain the premises in a manner free from hazardous and/or dangerous conditions and failed to provided adequate warning of the condition of the step.
Scheblein seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Josh D. Shocklee of Shocklee Paolino PA in St. Petersburg.
