Southern University sues for $2,455 plus interest

NEW ORLEANS – The Southern University Board of Supervisors, through Southern University at New Orleans, filed a lawsuit on June 27 against Michael L. Alphonse, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging that he has a past due account.

The university is seeking damages of $2,455 plus interest, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off his bill. The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Melvin Zeno.
