ORLANDO — Two Maitland residents are suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Robert Oswald and Laura Oswald filed a complaint June 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging failure to pay the benefits that were due and owing.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2017, while the Security First policy was in full force and effect, the Oswalds' property at 1231 Pryde Drive, Maitland, sustained damage from Hurricane Irma. They said they immediately filed a claim with Security First for their losses but have been unsuccessful.

The plaintiffs allege Security First Insurance has denied full coverage and refused to pay the full benefits due for the covered loss.

The Oswalds seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other relief this court deems just and proper. They are represented by attorney Geoffrey Gilbert of Law Offices of Geoffrey Gilbert PA in Delray Beach.
