CLEARWATER — A customer is suing a St. Petersburg salon, alleging negligence in failing to prevent injuries to her feet.

Sharon Price filed a complaint May 3 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against BMT Nails and Spa Corp, alleging failure to properly perform a pedicure.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 22, 2017, Price went to BMT Nails and Spa, 2018 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, to have a pedicure service. But days after the pedicure, Price says, she developed a fungal infection on both feet. As a result, the suit says, she sustained real and lasting injuries, requiring medical treatment and incurred substantial costs.

The plaintiff alleges BMT Nails and Spa failed to maintain its premises and equipment in a reasonably safe condition so as to reasonably ensure that utensils used in nail services had been properly cleaned and not transfer a fungal infection.

Price seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interests, court costs, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Jeremy S. Clark of Clark Law in St. Petersburg.
