Guest blames Ramada for fall, injuries

FORT LAUDERDALE — A guest is suing a Ramada resort, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries to her wrist.

Gloria J. Pearson filed a complaint March 20 in Broward Circuit Court against VL West Building Corporation, doing business as Ramada Plaza Resort, alleging failure to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2016, Pearson was at the Ramada Plaza Resort 5100 N. state Road 7, Fort Lauderdale. The suit said she slipped on a wet substance on the lobby floor and landed violently on her wrist.

Pearson says she sustained pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience, disability, loss of earnings and aggravation of a previously existing condition as a result of the defendant's negligence.

The plaintiff alleges Ramada Plaza Resort failed to mark the hazard created by the wet substance, failed to check its premises on a regular basis and failed to remedy the dangerous condition.

Pearson seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus court costs, interest and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Boris L. Zhadanovskiy of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA in West Palm Beach.
