Guest blames Ritz-Carlton spa for facial injuries

ORLANDO — A guest is suing Ritz-Carlton, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Kimberlee Allsup filed a complaint Feb. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 11, 2016, Allsup was having a facial treatment at the Ritz-Carlton spa in Orlando. Despite requesting a non-abrasive procedure, Allsup says she sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and medical expenses, when the defendant's employee negligently administered an abrasive facial procedure.

The plaintiff alleges The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company failed to use reasonable care in performing the facial procedure and failed to follow Allsup's request for a basic, non-abrasive procedure.

Allsup seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs of action. She is represented by attorneys L. Javan Grant and J. Scott Slater of Slater / Grant in Wesley Chapel, Florida.
