ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing the owners and operators of an Orlando nightclub, alleging negligence in failing to prevent criminal activity on the premises.

Joseph Bracero filed a complaint Feb. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Living Orlando LLC, and Club XM Inc., doing business as Parallel Night Club, and formerly known as Club Limelite, alleging failure to provide a reasonably safe premises to all invitees.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 26, 2014, Bracero was lawfully on the defendants premises, 367 N. Orange Ave., as a customer when he was violently attacked by an unknown criminal assailant. 

As a result, Bracero says, he suffered bodily injury, mental anguish and the expense of hospitalization, medical care and treatment. 

The plaintiff alleges Parallel Night Club failed to provide reasonably expected security guard services to prevent and deter criminal activity and failed to monitor the effectiveness and sufficiency of the security plan of its agents and tenants.

Bracero seeks trial by jury,damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and all further relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorney Tyrone A. King of King & Markman, PA in Orlando.
