Customer blames Wawa for injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — An Orange County woman is suing the owner of an Orlando Wawa convenience store, alleging negligence caused her injuries.

Cheryl France filed a complaint Dec. 18 in Orange County Circuit Court against Sadaf Haider and Wawa Inc., alleging failure to exercise reasonable care for safety and to maintain the premises in a clean and safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 3, 2016, France was lawfully on the premises of the Wawa, 3025 Curry Ford Road, Orlando. The suit says she slipped and fell on a transitory foreign substance/object. As a result, France says she she sustained bodily injury, mental anguish, inconvenience and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect and maintain premises/flooring, thus creating an unreasonably dangerous condition, failed to warn customers of the danger of the premises and failed to have adequate staff on duty to inspect or maintain the premises/flooring in a safe condition.

France seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Nicholas P. Panagakis of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
