CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County man is suing a St. Petersburg property owner, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Richard Keenan filed a complaint Nov. 21 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Kevin Daw, alleging the defendant failed to maintain his property in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 7, 2017, Keenan was an invitee at Daw's property at 7118 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. The suit says Keenan slipped and fell on the front porch in a wet area caused by water draining from the roof.

As a result, Keenan says he sustained bodily injury, pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost the ability to earn money and incurred medical and treatment expenses. The plaintiff alleges Daw failed to warn invitees of the hazardous condition in the area and failed to comply with the applicable building codes.

Keenan seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and court costs. He is represented by attorney Dean W. Karikas of Karikas & Kasaris, PA in St. Petersburg.
