CLEARWATER — A family is suing Pinellas County medical providers, alleging liability, loss of consortium, medical negligence and vicarious liability.

Kendra A. Brown, Wayne B. Brown, JCB and GEB filed a complaint Nov. 21 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Dr. Adam M. Rosen, Arthritis & Rheumatism Associates PL, and advanced registered nurse practioners Barbara Leding ARNP, and Tatiana Sangosanya, alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.

According to the complaint, between April 2014 and October 2016, Kendra A. Brown suffered hospitalizations, medical and nursing treatments, and misdiagnosis. The suit says this included rib fractures, hospital-acquired pneumonia, elevated intracranial pressure, muscle wasting and atrophy, and encephalopathy, as a result of the defendants' negligence. The lawsuit states her was deprived of Brown's companionship, society, consortium, and services.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to generate, pursue, and/or workup a differential diagnosis for Brown's persistent complaints of pain, failed to prescribe bone protective medications, and failed to advise Brown of the long-term side effects of chronic Prednisone use.

The Browns seek trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, exclusive of costs, and attorney fees. They are represented by attorney Christa M. Carpenter of The Patient’s Law Firm PA in Palm Harbor.
