CLEARWATER — A Clearwater business is suing a former employee, alleging fraud.
Stanam Industries Inc. filed a complaint Oct. 23 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Jeremie Falzone, alleging refusal to return the plaintiff's property.
According to the complaint, Stanam Industries has suffered substantial damages from Falzone's refusal to return several items/gadgets, owned and lent by the plaintiff, upon his termination. The suit says these items included an Iphone, MacBook, company records and files and keys to the company's Clearwater building.
Additionally, the suit says, Falzone caused further monetary injury to Stanam by using the company credit card to purchase personal items.
The plaintiff alleges Falzone failed to return his properties to the company and made personal purchases on the company-provided credit card.
Stanam Industries seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest, costs of action, attorney fees and all additional relief the court deems appropriate. It is represented by attorney David P. Steffen of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete LLP in Tampa.
