ORLANDO — An Orange County woman is suing an Orlando retail store, alleging negligence in keeping its premises safe.

Jomaira Buigues filed a complaint Oct. 10 in Orange County Circuit Court against Bealls Inc., alleging the defendant owed a duty to exercise care for the safety of individuals inside its premises.

According to the complaint, on June 7, 2016, while lawfully at Bealls, 350 E. Michigan St., Orlando, Buigues fell on a security tag. As a result, Buigues says she suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Bealls failed to maintain the premises/flooring, thus creating a hazard to members of the public utilizing the property, and failed to follow its own corporate policy regarding the dangerous condition.

Buigues seeks trial by jury, damages and judgment in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Dane Jordan of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
