FORT LAUDERDALE — A customer is suing a Cooper City restaurant, alleging negligence caused her to become ill.

Alexandra Baker filed a complaint Sept. 6 in Broward Circuit Court against La Brochette Inc., doing business as La Brochette Bistro, alleging the restaurant owner failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 8, 2013, Baker was rendered sick and injured, suffered great pain and anguish, required medical care and treatment and aggravated a previous existing disease from the consumption of improper food products carelessly prepared by La Brochette Bistro.

The plaintiff alleges La Brochette Bistro failed to properly maintain and inspect its business operations, failed to prevent the existence or threat of food contamination and caused unreasonable risk of harm to its customers.

Baker seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and interest. She is represented by attorney Scott R. Gill of Fort Lauderdale.
