ORLANDO — Two individuals are suing American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida for alleged breach of contract.

Gowtam Ramdat and Debita Tejwantie Badri filed a complaint on June 26 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their property was damaged by water on Dec. 7, 2016 due to a broken and/or leaking pipe that required reasonable repairs, replacements and appropriate cleaning and other remedial measures. Though the plaintiffs allegedly notified the defendant of the damages, the defendant allegedly refused to pay insurance benefits.

The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to establish proof that it was not responsible for paying for the damages, and for failing to pay the requested amounts for repairs and/or replacement.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just. They are represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
