MIAMI – A paralegal alleges that she was not paid a minimum wage during her employment.
Reeva Pierre filed a complaint on April 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Family Office LP, Vincent Chhabra, Sushma Chhabra, Key Legal Services LLC and Mitchell Hammer citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendants as a paralegal from March to November 2016. The plaintiff holds Family Office LP, Vincent Chhabra, Sushma Chhabra, Key Legal Services LLC and Hammer responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime wages at a rate of time-and-one-half to the plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week and failed to pay a minimum wage.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for all damages, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs, and expenses, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock and David Frank of Whitelock & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
