Former Need It Now Courier driver alleges he was not paid overtime wages

Law money 02

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Broward County employer is alleged to have not paid a Miami-Dade County man for overtime work.

Lucas Cook filed a complaint on behalf of himself and others similarly situated on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against ASAP Courier & Logistics LLC, doing business as Need It Now Courier, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that he was a van driver for the defendant and was employed by the defendant from August 2014 to August 2015 and January to March 2017. The plaintiffs hold ASAP Courier & Logistics LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff the required overtime rate of time-and-one-half of his regular wages.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant, compensatory and liquidated damages, attorney’s fees and costs, interest, and other relief which the court deems reasonable. He is represented by Edilberto O. Marban of The Law Offices of Eddy O. Marban in Coral Gables.
