FORT LAUDERDALE – Two Miami-Dade residents employed by a restaurant as kitchen employees claim they were not compensated for all hours worked.
Diego Quintana and Reinaldo Quintana Jr. filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against 9460 Restaurant Partners LLC, doing business as The Backyard - Q + Brew, and Offy Shifman citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they worked an average of 60 hours per week for the defendants. The plaintiffs hold 9460 Restaurant Partners LLC, doing business as The Backyard - Q + Brew, and Shifman responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay minimum wages or overtime wages to the plaintiff.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages, liquidated damages, minimum wages owing, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Isaac Mamane of Mamane Law LLC in North Miami.
