Chanel alleges Amazon sellers offer counterfeit products

FORT LAUDERDALE – Several Amazon sellers are alleged to be selling counterfeit Chanel goods.

Chanel Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Aeiorde, Alicia Baltazar, AmEm, et al. alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to their business and reputation. The plaintiff holds Aeiorde, Alicia Baltazar, AmEm, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly could cause confusion among plaintiff's consumers from selling similar products that bear plaintiff's mark.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's mark, pay the plaintiff for all profits and damages, award statutory damages of $2 million per counterfeit mark used, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, Virgilio Gigante and T. Raquel Rodriguez-Albizu of Stephen M. Gaffigan PA in Fort Lauderdale.
