Maaco Franchising alleged to have not paid overtime wages

Law money 04

TAMPA – A Pasco County individual alleges an auto paint and collision repair shop in Land O'Lakes did not properly compensate for overtime work and has filed a class-action suit.

Cleve Dubois filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Maaco Franchising LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2016, he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Maaco Franchising LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked that exceeded 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime wages, unpaid back wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Brandon J. Hill of Wenzel Fenton Cabassa P.A. in Tampa.
