Former Hillcrest Lodge employee claims he was not paid

Law money 10

TAMPA – A man formerly employed by a Citrus County apartment complex alleges he was not paid for his work.

Ricky Simmons filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Alberta R. Severin and John E. Severin citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendants to collect rent from tenants at the Hillcrest Lodge apartment complex, plus attend to other duties. The plaintiff holds Alberta R. Severin and John E. Severin responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any compensation or overtime pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award compensation to the plaintiff, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by J. Kemp Brinson of The Brinson Firm in Winter Haven.
