FORT LAUDERDALE – A Broward County employer is accused of not paying an air conditioning installer/duct cleaner the proper rate for overtime work.
Rodney Saunders filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against USA Air Duct Cleaners LLC and Doron Ziv citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation during his employment with the defendants from April to October 2014. The plaintiff holds USA Air Duct Cleaners LLC and Ziv responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime wages at a rate of time-and-one-half despite working more than 40 hours per week. He alleges he worked between 560 to 676 hours of overtime.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks pay all overtime compensation due to the plaintiff, unpaid overtime, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Roderick V. Hannah of Roderick V. Hannah ESQ P.A. in Plantation.
