Law money 02

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Monroe County woman who formerly worked in the food and beverage department at Casino Miami claims she is owed unpaid overtime compensation.

Yolanda Alvarez Baez filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Fronton Holdings LLC citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation during her employment from December 2011 to April 2016. The plaintiff holds Fronton Holdings LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory overtime wages, liquidated damages, unpaid wages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems. She is represented by Brian H. Pollock of Fairlaw Firm in Miami.
