Former JCB Cleaning Systems Inc. employees allege they were not paid a minimum wage

FORT LAUDERDALE – Two individuals allege they are owed more than $20,000 each in unpaid wages.

Jose Jaramillo and Luz Dary Giraldo filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against JCB Cleaning Systems Inc., Julio Caceres and Blanca Caceres alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from not being paid minimum wages at the legal rate from 2011 to 2016. The plaintiffs holds JCB Cleaning Systems Inc., Julio Caceres and Blanca Caceres responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly compensate the plaintiffs according to the minimum wage required by the law and instead paid them $4 for every office they cleaned on a daily basis. Both plaintiffs allege they are owed $23,315.95 each in unpaid wages.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by R. Martin Saenz of Saenz & Anderson PLLC in Aventura.
