Law money 13

MIAMI — A former IT employee is suing employer Brenda Snipes, in her official capacity as Broward County Supervisor of Elections, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Alan Saranga filed a complaint on Dec. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Snipes, in her official capacity as Broward County Supervisor of Elections, alleging that the employer failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all overtime wages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Robert C. Buschel of Buschel Gibbons, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale.
