MIAMI — A Florida woman is suing Prudential Insurance, alleging failure to pay disability benefits.
Karen Wilson filed a lawsuit Dec. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against The Prudential Insurance Company of America, alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Ac (ERISA).
According to the complaint, in 2013, Wilson, who worked for JP Morgan Chase Bank, became disabled and was initially paid disability benefits until the payments were suddenly terminated. The plaintiff alleges Prudential terminated Wilson's benefits despite her being disabled according to the terms of the plan.
Wilson seeks payment of disability benefits due, reinstatement to the plan, all legal fees and interest and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Cesar Gavidia and Gregory M. Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer Chartered in Hollywood, Florida.
