TAMPA — A Florida man is suing a debt collector, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Ryan Neubauer filed a lawsuit Nov. 21 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Tampa Division against Alliance One, Inc. alleging the defendant called the plaintiff's cellular telephone in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, in 2016, Neubauer suffered damages from receiving collection calls from Alliance One, which used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the cellular telephone of the plaintiff without his permission.

Neubauer seeks trial by jury, damages up to $1,000, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Christopher W. Boss of St. Petersburg.
