PINELLAS — A consumer is suing Navient Solutions, Inc., a debt collector, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Karina Hensberry filed a complaint on Oct. 24, in the Pinellas County Circuit Court against Navient Solutions, Inc. alleging that the debt collector called plaintiff's cellular telephone several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in August 2016, Karina Hensberry suffered damages from receiving several collection calls on her cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds Navient Solutions, Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact the plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Christie D. Arkovich and Barbara C. Leon of Christie D. Arkovich, P.A. in Tampa.
