Synchrony Bank named in suit over alleged harassing phone calls to collect debt

JACKSONVILLE — A consumer is suing Synchrony Bank and Allied Interstate, LLC, debt collectors, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Vincent Colonna filed a complaint on Oct. 24, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against the defendants alleging that they contacted plaintiff several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in December 2015, he suffered damages from receiving numerous collection calls on his cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds Synchrony Bank and Allied Interstate, LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, actual damages, and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Shaughn C. Hill of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa, P.A. in Tampa.
