MIAMI – A Broward County individual formerly employed as a security guard alleges he was not properly compensated for working overtime.

Patrick Escarment filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Jetset Franklin LLC and Eleonora Todaro citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Jan. 1 and Aug. 23, he worked for more than 40 hours per week and was only paid straight time for those extra hours. The plaintiff holds Jetset Franklin LLC and Todaro responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by James M. Loren of Goldberg & Loren PA in Plantation.
