ORLANDO – A Seminole County man alleges he was injured by a federal agency's tent at an air show.

Bruce L. Miller filed a complaint on Sept. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against United States of America citing the Federal Tort Claims Act and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 24, 2013, he was a spectator at an air show at the Kennedy Space Center, when a tent owned and maintained by NASA, defendant's agency, broke loose. He alleges the tent caused injuries to plaintiff, including disability, impairment, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, aggravation of an existing condition, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds United States of America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the subject tent, failed to inspect and discover a hazard to the general public and failed to adequately warn plaintiff and the general public of the danger of the subject tent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages and judgment for $500,000 plus costs and other relief deemed proper by the court. He is represented by Gregory S. Stark of Todd K. Miner PA in Orlando.
