MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges he was not paid overtime while employed as an order packer.
Isaac Alvarez filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Catered Fit Corp. citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April and August, he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff also alleges he did not receive his final payment for the last two weeks of his employment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and compensatory damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by James A. Peterson of Peterson Legal PA in Fort Lauderdale.
