ORLANDO – A Louisiana man claims he was injured in the bathroom of an Orlando hotel.
Dwayne Granier filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County against LNR Partners LLC and LNR Property LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 6, 2015, he was staying as a guest at the Hawthorn Suites owned by the defendants, when he fell in the bathtub of the room he was staying in, sustaining injuries, including disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and aggravation of an existing condition. He alleges the bathtub had poor drainage and lack of slip resistant surface or a bar to hold.
The plaintiff holds LNR Partners LLC and LNR Property LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition of the area, failed to correct the condition known to them or had existed for some time and failed to implement appropriate policies and procedures to inspect the property.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages and demands judgment of more than $15,000 plus interest and cost. He is represented by Joshua A. Machlus of Colling Gilbert Wright & Carter in Orlando.
