Government files suit against individual over alleged failure to pay student loan

MIAMI – A Palm Beach County man is accused of owing more than $30,000 for a student loan.

United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Tony A. Valentine alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Valentine failed to pay the principal amount of his debt to plaintiff plus interest. The suit states the education loan was issued in 1989.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $14,302.95, interest of $16,739.93, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Steven M. Davis of Becker & Poliakoff PA in Coral Gables.
