Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston accused of wrongfully denying benefits

TAMPA – A woman alleges she was wrongfully denied disability benefits.

Rhonda Overman filed a complaint on July 8 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages as the result of being denied of her disability benefits by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff's request for disability benefits despite being disabled within the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks reinstatement of benefits plus any ancillary benefits plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by William S. Coffman of Coffman Law in Tampa.
