Celebration Cruise Line, others face suit from passenger alleging fan fell on her

Cruise 09

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Florida woman who was a passenger on the cruise ship Grand Celebration alleges she was injured by a fan while on the ship.

Kendra Culver filed a complaint on July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against Celebration Cruise Line LLC, Cruise Operator Inc., Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line LLC, Fleetpro Ocean Inc. and Celebration Cruise Line Management LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 14, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when the ceiling fan in her room suddenly fell on her. The plaintiff holds Celebration Cruise Line LLC, Cruise Operator Inc., Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line LLC, Fleetpro Ocean Inc., and Celebration Cruise Line Management LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect the fixtures on their staterooms to make sure that all of them are in working order.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages and costs. She is represented by Nicholas I. Gerson, Philip M. Gerson and Edward S. Schwartz of Gerson & Schwartz PA in Miami.
