TAMPA – A Polk County consumer alleges a debt collector harassed her with phone calls.
Marcia Dennis filed a complaint on May 31 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Prog Leasing LLC, doing business as Progressive Leasing, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collections Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges since April 2015, she has received several phone calls per day from the defendant despite her several requests for the calls to stop. The plaintiff holds Prog Leasing LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system or a pre-recorded or artificial voice when contacting plaintiff.
The plaintiff seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Frank H. Kerney III of Morgan & Morgan Tampa PA in Tampa.
