Suit filed against B&B Contracting Inc. for allegedly unpaid wages

Law money 10

FORT LAUDERDALE – A former employee of a tile, granite, marble and brick installation company has filed a class-action lawsuit alleging he wasn't paid overtime.

Melvin Grase filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Fort Lauderdale Division against B&B Contracting Inc. and Walter Beaton alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between September 2015 and June 11, he worked for more than 40 hours but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds B&B Contracting Inc. and Beaton responsible because the defendants allegedly failed pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for all hours worked in excess of 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, liquidated damages, all legal fees, interest on all unpaid overtime wages, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Daniel T. Feld of Law Office of Daniel T. Feld PA in Hollywood and Isaac Mamane of Mamane Law LLC in Bay Harbor Islands.
