MIAMI – A Boynton Beach shipping company is suing a fashion accessory company claiming patent infringement.
Shipping & Transit LLC filed a complaint on May 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Vera Bradley Inc. also known as Vera Bradley Sales LLC and doing business as VeraBradley.com.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has been injured and will continue to be injured unless and until a monetary judgment is entered in its favor. The plaintiff holds Vera Bradley Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly directly infringed its 6,415,207; 6,904,359; 6,763,299; and 7,400,970 patents, which deal with tracking packages during shipping.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks permanent injunction against defendant, prohibiting further infringement of the patents at issue, compensation for all damages, prejudgment interest, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and all other relief as the court or a jury may deem proper and just. It is represented by Jason P. Dollard of Leslie Robert Evans & Associates in Palm Beach.
