FORT LAUDERDALE – A Doral vessel operating common carrier is suing a Kissimmee business for allegedly not paying for the transport of goods.
King Ocean Services LTD filed a complaint on May 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against Poinciana Milling Complex Inc. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November and December 2015, it shipped long-grain rice at the defendant's request from Port Everglades to Guatemala and delivered said cargo to the consignees. The plaintiff holds Poinciana Milling Complex Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly has failed and refused to remit payment of $17,375 for the ocean freight and related charges.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment for damages in the amount of $17,375, attorney’s fees, costs and disbursements of this action and for such other, further and different relief as the Court may just and proper. It is represented by Dee M. Dolvin of Dee M. Dolvin PA in Miami.
