Carnival Victory passenger alleges she twisted ankle due to hole in the floor

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A Carnival Victory passenger alleges she was injured as a result of the ship owner's negligence.

Brenda Strickland filed a complaint on April 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 29, while she walking, she twisted her ankle and fell due to a hole in the surface of the floor that was concealed under the carpet, causing her to suffer severe bodily injuries. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train and supervise its crew to avoid accidents, failed to maintain or remedy the hazardous condition, failed to warn passengers, and failed to comply with its own applicable standards, statutes and regulations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages, all court costs, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and for any and all other relief which the court may deem just or appropriate. She is represented by Spencer Marc Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
