FORT LAUDERDALE – A desk clerk is suing his former employer over allegations he was not paid overtime.

Brian Kozlowski filed a complaint on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Broward Division against Hotel Motel Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he did not receive proper overtime compensation for her extra hours worked during his employment. The plaintiff holds Hotel Motel Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to compensate him at a statutory rate of time-and-one-half of his hourly rate for all hours he worked in excess of 40 hours in a week and failed to maintain proper time records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for the amount due to him, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs, prejudgment interest and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Richard Celler of Richard Celler Legal PA in Davie.
