Former employee alleges ALH Administrative Services wrongfully terminated him

Wrongful term 02

ORLANDO – A sales agent is suing his former employer, alleging he was retaliated against and wrongfully terminated for taking a medical leave.

Daniel Hay filed a complaint on March 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against ALH Administrative Services LLC, alleging violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in September 2015, he took time off from work due to blood clots in his left leg. The suit states he was placed on bed rest for three weeks and that he was frequently in contact with the defendant about his treatment and when he intended to return to work. He alleges he was terminated on Sept. 29, 2015, without any explanation, before he returned to work. The suit states his leave of absence was protected on the FMLA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Richard Celler of Richard Celler Legal PA in Davie.
