MIAMI – A passenger that traveled on the cruise ship the Norwegian Epic has filed suit over claims the ship's medical staff was negligent in its care.
Ana Maria Arroyos filed a complaint on March 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, citing medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 12, 2015, and April 15, 2015, she experienced worsening severe abdominal pain and nausea. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant's infirmary staff allegedly negligently failed to recognize that she was suffering from sepsis and other complications, failed to timely transfer her to an acute care facility and failed to provide reasonable medical care and services.
The plaintiff seeks compensation for all damages and costs of the suit. She is represented by Jack Paris of The Cochran Firm South Florida in Miami Springs.
