Cruise passenger alleges she was injured while on ship

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A Naples woman alleges she was injured on a cruise ship and required a 12-day hospital stay in Germany.

Liselotte Schwartz filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against AmaWaterways LLC, Amadeus Waterways Inc., Cruising Investments (USA) LTD and Ama Waterways GMBH, vacation cruise companies, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 31, 2014, she tripped and fell violently near the gangway of the ship while it was docked in Germany and suffered injury to her shoulder that required surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to take suitable precautions to protect passengers under the circumstances.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, costs for this action and any further relief that the court may deem just and appropriate. She is represented by Michael T. Moore and Clay M. Naughton of Moore & Co. PA in Coral Gables.
