MIAMI – A New York resident is suing cruise line owner over injuries she allegedly suffered while on a cruise aboard the Carnival Liberty.
Nereida Padilla filed a complaint on Feb. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Cruise Line, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Feb. 21, 2015, she slipped and fell while walking across a ceramic tile floor, resulting in severe bodily injuries. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement a method of inspection that would prevent the dangerous conditions.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages suffered, medical expenses, loss of capacity to enjoy life, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and any other relief which that the court may deem just or appropriate. She is represented by Spencer Marc Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
