Woman claims Dollar Tree broke wage law

MIAMI — A Broward County woman is suing Dollar Tree Stores Inc., claiming unpaid wages and violation of compensation law.

Sandra Goodwin claims Dollar Tree did not compensate her properly for overtime. Her suit alleges that the variety store operator knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between March 2015 and November 2015, she regularly worked for an average of approximately 65 hours per week without being compensated for actual overtime hours worked.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses and all other relief including prejudgment interest.
