FORT LAUDERDALE—A distributor of aircraft parts is suing a Venezuelan airline for money allegedly owed.
Lumar Aviation Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against El Consorcio Venezolano de Industrias Aeronauticas y Servicios Aereos, S.A. alleging breach of contract.
The plaintiff alleges that between July 2013 and June 2015 it did not receive any payments from El Consorcio Venezolano for various aircraft parts and equipment delivered to the airline.
The plaintiff seeks $1.4 million plus interest in the amount of $292,085 for money owed, monetary damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses, and any other relief that the court deems just and proper. Lumar Aviation is represented by Olesia Y. Belchenko of Miami.
