A retail giant is facing legal action after a customer allegedly suffered serious injuries due to negligence at one of its stores. Robin Cuahonte filed a complaint against Ross Dress for Less, Inc. in the Circuit Court of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on April 15, 2025. The lawsuit claims that the company failed to maintain safe premises at its St. Petersburg location.

According to the court documents, on April 30, 2023, Robin Cuahonte visited the Ross Dress for Less store located at 2050 Tyrone Blvd. N., St. Petersburg, Florida as an invitee when she encountered a hazardous condition—a framed picture left carelessly on the floor. This alleged oversight led to Cuahonte sustaining severe injuries. The plaintiff asserts that Ross Dress for Less was negligent by not inspecting or securing the picture frame and failing to warn customers about this dangerous condition.

The lawsuit details how this incident has resulted in significant physical and emotional distress for Cuahonte. She claims to have endured bodily injury accompanied by pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Additionally, she has incurred expenses related to hospitalization and medical care and argues that these damages are either permanent or ongoing.

Cuahonte seeks compensatory damages exceeding $50,000 from Ross Dress for Less for their alleged negligence and demands a jury trial to resolve all triable issues. The plaintiff's legal representation is provided by Parvey & Cavenago Attorneys, P.A., with Carlos J Cavenago III acting as her attorney.

The Case Number is: 25-001898-CI.
